Do I need to read the series in order? Each book in each series stands alone, but starting with Book 1 of each series will give you the most enjoyment in getting to know the characters and following the series arcs if you read the books in order.

Are these paranormal cozy mysteries? Shawn's Whispering Pines Mysteries and Blackwood Grove Mysteries are paranormal cozies. The blend cozy mystery storytelling with supernatural elements like witches, folklore, and hidden magic.

Are the books violent or graphic? Shawn's Gemi Kittredge Mysteries do have some violence but not a great deal. Whispering Pines Mysteries and Blackwood Grove Mysteries follow cozy mystery conventions. While they are a bit edgier than some cozies, they focus on intrigue and relationships rather than graphic content. 

Is there romance in the story? There are light romantic elements in the Whispering Pines Mysteries, but the primary focus is the mystery.

Is this appropriate for teens / is there adult content? The Whispering Pines mysteries, Witches of Blackwood Grove mysteries, and Wish Makers fantasies are appropriate for teens. The Gemi Kittredge mysteries are okay for older teens.
